About Serious Guitar

Serious Guitar is COVID friendly!

As we know, most schools and businesses are closed in many states. Since this book is the teacher and because many people have extra time on their hands, Serious Guitar is the perfect answer for students who can't go to school or take lessons now. Study and practice at home with the best instruction possible, without the need of others being close by if that is a concern.

Serious Guitar is a top-notch, 240 page, comprehensive, in-depth study of scales, chords, chord progressions (songs) and the harmonic ideas of improvisation plus much, much more. Every idea, from simple to advanced is thoroughly explained in a very clear, understandable way; accompanied with many supporting charts, neck-diagrams and notated examples with tablature. Guitar instruction and music theory at its best.

Serious Guitar can also be described as a complete, college-level guitar/theory instruction course, all in one book. In fact, many students of Serious Guitar have studied only from it, instead of going to a music school saving many thousands of dollars in the process. With all the BS and financial issues going on in the world right now, the value obtained from the information in this book is unsurpassed.

While written primarily for intermediate to advanced students (a minimum of two years of guitar-playing is preferable) no previous knowledge of music theory is necessary because it starts at the beginning and expertly advances students to the point where you're

using the same cutting-edge concepts that the best musicians in the world use every day. Students will be able to understand all styles of music because this book will also teach you how music works. No more trying in vain to learn from multiple sources. It's all here in one place giving the student several big advantages: comprehension, continuity of thought, clarity and convenience, with no gaps in coverage. Knowing what to practice and how to practice it is important as well, so a very detailed, concise practice approach is covered too. No more wondering about what to practice next; simply turn the page. You'll feel as though a teacher is sitting right there with you explaining what to practice and exactly how to practice it.

Take a close look at the Table Of Contents to see the immense amount of ground that is covered. Also be sure to look at the page examples. These somewhat randomly chosen pages show how several things like chords, scale positions and notation are illustrated throughout.

The motivation behind writing Serious Guitar was simple: I wanted to write the book I wish I had when I was trying to learn. In High School I listened mostly to Rock music, which I still love, but I also listened to Jazz players and knew that Jazz players understood things about scales and chords that Rock players didn't and I had to find out what it was. After many teachers, tons of books and a lot of wasted time and money, I finally found the guy who could put the years worth of fragments together for me. So, here it is...all the right information, in the right order and it's all in one book.

Serious Guitar is a book you will keep forever.
